As MPs voted overwhelmingly in favour of British military action in Syria, anti-war campaigners who had been protesting in Parliament Square against bombing ISIS broke down in tears
Loud boos erupted from the crowd which had gathered outside the Palace of Westminster in Parliament Square, central London, to hear the outcome of the controversial Commons' vote - which saw MPs' back Prime Minister David Cameron's plans 397 to 223, with a majority of 174.
Many protesters could be seen sobbing and there were shouts of 'shame on you' as news of the vote spread through the few hundred-strong crowd.
