Dear iPhone users, welcome to 2012!

Last night’s Apple announcement was one of the most hyped in recent history, and it appears that the products didn’t quite live up to expectation. 


Reaction to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been lukewarm, and many people have accused Apple of playing catch up with rivals such as Samsung and HTC, rather than leading the way. 
An image titled 'Dear iPhone 6 users: Welcome to 2012' has even gone viral, which lists many of Apple's latest features that have existed on Android phones for years.

But reaction to the Apple Watch, as well as the tech firm’s mobile payment system Apple Pay, has been much more positive - despite the firm's admission that the gadget will need to be recharged every night.

Devices were unveiled at Flint Center for the Performing Arts, Cupertino
Reaction has been lukewarm and this caused share prices to drop 1.3% 
Apple has been accused of copying its rivals, instead of leading the way
Everything post-Steve Jobs has been 'reactionary', according to one expert
iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch screen and the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen
This makes them closer in size to the Amazon Fire Phone, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and HTC One 
Apple has also added swipe-payment features that have been on Android for years
Reaction to the Apple Watch and its features has been more positive
However, the gadget will only operate when paired with an iPhone
