Lisa Armstrong breaks her silence after Ant McPartlin 'confirms' he's expecting his first child with wife Anne-Marie Corbett

Lisa Armstrong, the ex-wife of TV presenter Ant McPartlin, has addressed the recent news of Ant's impending fatherhood. Ant, 48, is reportedly expecting his first child with his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, fulfilling his long-standing desire to start a family.

According to close friends, Ant is said to be overjoyed by the news. He shared the happy announcement with his co-stars on Britain's Got Talent and revealed that Anne-Marie, 46, is due in June.

Shortly after the news broke, Lisa took to Instagram for the first time to pay tribute to Hurley, the beloved dog she still shares with Ant. She posted an adorable sketch of a dog's paws in its owner's hands along with a caption expressing gratitude for the companionship and friendship Hurley provides.

During their divorce proceedings, it was reported that Ant insisted on keeping Hurley, stating, "She can have anything she wants – except the dog." The former couple agreed to share custody and take turns caring for Hurley.

In a candid interview back in 2013, Ant had previously shared the challenges he and Lisa faced while trying to conceive. The couple, who got married in 2006, attempted to have a baby for several years but divorced in 2018 without any children.

Ant jokingly mentioned in the interview that there was a rumor he was waiting for his co-host, Declan Donnelly, to find his perfect partner before starting a family.

However, he clarified that he and Lisa were actively trying to have children and acknowledged the difficulties that can arise as one gets older.

Rumors about Anne-Marie's pregnancy had circulated back in December when she appeared to have a baby bump while returning from a trip to Dubai. However, neither Ant nor Anne-Marie have publicly commented on the news yet.

According to The Sun, Ant had confided in his close friend and onscreen partner, Declan Donnelly, about the wonderful news after weeks of speculation. Anne-Marie, who has two children from a previous marriage, reportedly had a five-month scan, which allowed the couple to share their joy.

Sources close to them described Ant as a devoted and loving father figure to Anne-Marie's children and stated that they kept the pregnancy a secret for as long as possible.

Ant and Lisa's marriage ended in 2018 after he sought treatment for addiction issues. The divorce proceedings were lengthy and primarily focused on the division of Ant's £60 million fortune.

Lisa, a former singer in the band Deuce and a makeup artist for Strictly Come Dancing, expressed her disapproval of Ant's relationship with Anne-Marie by liking a tweet that called it a "major girl code breach." She had known Anne-Marie since she worked as a personal assistant for Ant and Lisa, which made the situation more difficult for her.

After her divorce from Ant, Lisa had a three-year relationship with James, which ended unexpectedly in August 2023. The split turned acrimonious due to financial disputes, with Lisa claiming she lent him money during their relationship.

The matter is currently unresolved, and Lisa has considered legal action to recover the funds.

Despite their personal differences, Ant and Lisa continue to share custody of Hurley, their dog. They arranged for the dog to be transferred between them by Ant's chauffeur to avoid direct contact.

Last year, there were reports that Lisa wanted Hurley to live with her permanently, arguing that it was fair since Ant also had two maltipoo dogs named Milo and Bumble.

Both Ant and Lisa have moved on since their divorce, with Ant finding happiness in his marriage to Anne-Marie and the anticipation of becoming a father, while Lisa focuses on her career as a makeup artist and navigating her personal life.
