One person has died after a Scottish fishing vessel with 8 humans on board capsized off Norway.

Njord, that is registered in Peterhead, got into issue and capsized in the North Sea around 100 nautical miles west of Stavanger.

The Norwegian Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre said the alarm become just earlier than 2pm on Sunday.

Three humans were winched into a search and rescue helicopter and had been flown to Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen wherein certainly one of them in the end died.

A NJRCC spokesman stated: “When we have been alerted we sent out sources and observed eight humans standing on the keel of the capsized fishing vessel.

“Three were taken into a search and rescue helicopter and five human beings had been picked up by using boat after we issued a Mayday relay.”

The NJRCC said the vessel is registered in Lerwick, but, it reportedly left Peterhead on the weekend.
