Prices at Harvester, J D Wetherspoon and Greene King were found to vary widely from city to city, consistent with a replacement study.

Researchers checked out the value of a Sunday roast in almost 70 pubs across locations including London, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Plymouth.

Their findings revealed a 40 per cent difference between the London average price of £11.53 and Birmingham's average price of £8.24 – respectively the foremost and least expensive of these analysed.

The worst offending pub chain is Greene King, which has the most important price difference across the venues analysed.

The cheapest meat roasts served at Hunters Moon in Birmingham and Wackum Inn, Bristol, both £5.99, are 125 per cent cheaper than in London's Silver Cross which charges £13.49 – a £7.50 difference within an equivalent group.

The study, compiled by VoucherCodes.co.uk, also found that, against this , J D Wetherspoon has the foremost consistent pricing across the board.

It has a difference of just 85p between its cheapest locations, found in 14 cities at £8.75, and therefore the costliest in London's the freedom Bounds at £9.60.

J D Wetherspoons is additionally the sole group which incorporates an alcoholic or beverage with their Sunday roast, providing additional value for money.

While London is predictably the foremost expensive city on the average , charging £11.53, the research reveals that the opposite cities also charging a premium are all located within the north of England, including Liverpool at £10.91 and Newcastle and Sheffield at £10.74.
