Pregnant Georgia Harrison Makes Love Island History as First Star Awarded MBE for Campaigning on Violence Against Women

Georgia Harrison, the pregnant reality TV star known for her appearances on Love Island, The Only Way Is Essex, and other popular shows, has made history as the first Love Island alumna to be awarded an MBE. She received this prestigious honour in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours for her tireless campaigning on violence against women and raising awareness about online privacy and cybercrime.

A Historic Honour for a Reality TV Star

Georgia Harrison’s appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) marks a significant moment for reality TV personalities, showing how they can leverage their public profiles for powerful social change. The 30-year-old was honoured at Windsor Castle in a ceremony attended by the Prince of Wales, who took a special interest in her journey and activism.

Reflecting on the moment, Georgia said she felt “exhilarated” and honoured that the Prince had followed her story, especially her battle against online abuse. This recognition is not just personal but symbolic for all women and survivors she represents.

Campaigning Against Violence and Cybercrime

Georgia’s dedication to activism began after her own traumatic experience as a victim of revenge porn. In 2021, she waived her right to anonymity during a court trial that saw her ex-partner and fellow reality star, Stephen Bear, convicted for sharing private sexual images and videos of her online. Bear served 10 and a half months of a 21-month prison sentence for voyeurism and disclosing private sexual content with intent to cause distress.

Using this painful experience as a catalyst, Georgia became a vocal campaigner against violence towards women and cyber abuse. She has worked alongside charities, spoken in Parliament, and participated in protests calling for stronger legal protections against online harassment, especially under the Online Safety Bill.

Turning Pain into Purpose

Georgia explained that speaking out wasn’t easy but was essential to prevent others from feeling as alone and powerless as she once did. She said, “I’ve tried to turn something painful into something positive,” and this MBE serves as a reminder that using one’s voice can indeed evoke change.

In 2024, she collaborated with Thames Valley Police on "Consent Conversations," a campaign promoting sexual consent education. Georgia also made an ITV documentary entitled Georgia Harrison: Porn, Power, Profit, exploring the harsh realities of image-based abuse and the fight for justice.

Personal and Professional Journey

Beyond activism, Georgia is balancing her public work with her personal life; she announced in April 2025 that she is expecting her first child with partner Jack Stacey. Her transition from reality star to respected campaigner and soon-to-be mother exemplifies resilience and transformation.

Georgia’s journey resonates with many, highlighting the potential for public figures to champion critical societal issues while maintaining authenticity and vulnerability.

Looking Forward

Receiving the MBE has energized Georgia’s mission, and she promises to continue working tirelessly to raise awareness, influence legislation, and empower survivors of abuse. Her story is a beacon of hope and strength, demonstrating how adversity can be converted into impactful advocacy.

As the first Love Island star to receive such an honour, Georgia Harrison’s legacy will undoubtedly inspire future generations to stand up against violence, demand online safety reforms, and support vulnerable women and girls.
