Hulk Hogan's Wife Sky Shares Heartfelt Tribute After Wrestling Legend's Sudden Death
WWE icon Hulk Hogan has passed away at age 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home on Thursday.
Sky Hogan, who married the wrestling legend in 2023, expressed her grief in an emotional Instagram post Friday, just one day after his unexpected death.
"I wasn't ready for this... and my heart is in pieces," Sky wrote. "He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time."
Sharing a tender photo of herself kissing Hogan's cheek, Sky continued: "This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend... but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart."
She praised Hogan's dedication to his fans, noting his efforts to connect with supporters despite his declining health: "Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him."
Finding solace in her faith, Sky said: "He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he's been welcomed home."
She asked fans to keep Hogan's family in their prayers during this difficult time.
Hogan's death comes as a shock, particularly given that just weeks earlier, Sky had dismissed rumors about his declining condition. In response to speculation that he was on his deathbed, she had asserted that his heart remained "strong" following routine neck surgery.
His representative had downplayed concerns last month, stating: "He's had problems with his back for years but there's no emergency."
A source close to Hogan revealed he had been working to recover from multiple surgeries: "Hulk has a body ravaged by wrestling, his body is the body of a 140-year-old man with all the bumps and bruises through the years, and his recent neck and back surgeries have been harder to come back from."
Hogan is survived by his three wives - Sky, Linda, and Jennifer McDaniel - as well as his children Brooke (36) and Nick (34), whom he shared with Linda. He also leaves behind two grandchildren.
The wrestling icon's passing follows a very public family dispute that emerged in March, when Linda accused her ex-husband of being a "complete liar" and "sex addict." She claimed their family was "in the worst mess" after Brooke severed ties with both parents.
Brooke countered by alleging she had been "verbally and mentally abused" during childhood, claiming the abuse sometimes became physical and came from unexpected sources.
The family rift saw Linda initially supporting her daughter's claims before later defending Hogan and calling Brooke a "narcissist."
Hogan married Linda in 1983, and their 26-year marriage ended in 2009. He then married Jennifer McDaniel in 2010, divorcing in 2021. His marriage to Sky in 2023 was notably not attended by Brooke.
In a poignant final tribute, Linda shared a nostalgic photo of herself and Hogan from the 1980s just days before his death, captioning it: "The good old days!"
