London Underground to be hit via double strike subsequent month

Thousands of Tube workers are to level 24-hour moves in March in a dispute over jobs, pay, pensions and conditions.
The RMT union has accused the Government of ‘engineering a monetary disaster at London Underground’.
Its preferred secretary Mick Lynch said Downing Street was using a ‘cuts time table’ which could ‘savage’ jobs, services, safety, pensions and working situations.
‘These are the very identical shipping body of workers praised as heroes for wearing London through Covid for nearly years, regularly at serious personal hazard, who now don't have any option but to strike to guard their livelihoods,’ he brought.
‘The politicians want to awaken to the fact that delivery team of workers will not pay the fee for this cynically engineered disaster.
‘In addition to the strike motion RMT is coordinating a campaign of resistance with colleagues from other unions impacted by way of this danger. The union stays available for talks geared toward resolving the dispute.’
The union has advised all 10,000 of its participants now not to turn up for paintings on Tuesday, March 1 or Thursday, March three.

RMT said a current ballot noticed 94% of participants vote casting to strike, but Transport for London bosses hit returned and said this discern was ‘incorrect’, claiming it become honestly ‘fewer than 50%’.
TfL’s leader working officer Andy Lord stated ‘no proposals were tabled on pensions or terms and conditions, and no person has or will lose their jobs because of the proposals we have set out’.
He told MailOnline: ‘The devastating effect of the pandemic on TfL price range has made a programme of exchange urgently necessary and we want the RMT to paintings with us, as opposed to disrupting London’s recovery.
‘We’re urging them to do the right component for London, communicate to us and make contact with off this unnecessary movement.’
TfL resources stated the delivery body had now not been formally notified with the aid of the RMT approximately the planned commercial action.
