Volcano in southern Japan releases giant smoke column; cautioning gave to local towns
TOKYO — A volcano in southern Japan ejected Wednesday with a monstrous segment of dark smoke surging into the sky.
The Japan Meteorological Agency raised the admonition level for Mount Aso to three on a size of five, notice explorers and inhabitants to stay away from the mountain.
NHK public TV broadcasted film of a huge smoke segment over the spring of gushing lava.
The admonition was given for the city of Aso and two close by towns in Kumamoto prefecture, which is in the north-focal locale of the southern island of Kyushu.
Yoshihiko Isozaki, the vice president Cabinet secretary in the public government, said it is as yet gathering data on the ejection.
