Charlton affirm takeoff of administrator Nigel Adkins; Adkins assumed responsibility in March this year; club at present sitting 22nd in League One table

Charlton have affirmed the takeoff of administrator Nigel Adkins following seven months in control.

The League One side are right now 22nd in the table, having won only two of their initial 13 games.

Proprietor Thomas Sandgaard told Charlton's site: "Nigel went along with us toward the finish of last season and had a quick effect, as we completed the season well, simply passing up a play-off place on objective contrast. Tragically, we haven't had the option to convey that structure into this season.

"I'd prefer to say thanks to Nigel for his diligent effort, inspiration and proceeded with polished methodology during his time at the club. We are totally baffled that it hasn't worked out this season and we hope everything turns out great for him for what's to come."

After Adkins took over on a more than long term contract last March Charlton lost just one of 10 games to end the season, barely passing up a play-off spot to Oxford United, who had the prevalent objective contrast.

Nonetheless, this season, they have lost eight of 13 games across all rivalries and are battling in the transfer places.

Their next game is away against fourth-place Sunderland on Saturday.
