It's the start of a new era and a new life for Katy Perry as she embraces the single life again and goes from pop star to big screen name.
So what better way to celebrate than with a rather apt photo shoot to mark Independence Day - for her motherland and herself.
And she lit up the studio just like the 4th of July in a number of very patriotic costumes as she marked America's freedom and her own.

Katy, 27, looked sensational in her costumes as she took part in the shoot and an interview for Parade.com.
In one shot, she is seen in a star-spangled banner top hat and tails with a blue corset covered in white stars and red and white striped pants.
She winked for the camera as she threw off her jacket and tipped her hat in the air, her red tinted hair shining under the lights.
For another shot, Katy showed off her curves in a fabulous floor length red gown and towering matching heels.
And she wasn't alone as she was joined by three handsome naval officers, who looked very smart and sexy in their uniforms.
And Katy couldn't keep her hands off them - and who can blame her - as she moved them into position and leaned against them for some sexy shots.
