Demi Moore is ending her six year marriage to Ashton Kutcher after reports of his alleged infidelities became public, yet behind closed doors their issues seem to have been a lot more complex.
It is believed Moore and Kutcher embarked on an 'open marriage', with suggestions hinting that the 49-year-old actress is bisexual.
An insider told Star: 'Demi is attracted to women just as much as men, so she didn’t always get all she needed from Ashton.'
In a carefully worded statement, Demi Moore yesterday announced her intention to divorce her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher.
And while the 49-year-old actress may have done so with a 'heavy heart', something that may be weighing heavier is the question hanging over the financial settlement.
Either party is yet to formally file for divorce - but in all likeliness Moore will raise the petition for the dissolution of marriage.
The couple are said to have between them a $290m fortune - a sizeable sum to be fought over.
But the division of assets may not be a simple process, depending on whether they signed a prenup when they married in 2005.
If they didn't - and if the divorce is filed in California - they can expect to split their assets 50/50.
Divorce lawyer Paul Catsandoni - who is not involved in the case - told HollywoodLife.com that Kutcher's alleged affair would not affect the division of funds under California law if there is no prenup in place.
