Goals and Summary Necaxa vs Pumas: Tough defeat for the Universitarios in Aguascalientes with goals from Palavecino and Arce in Apertura 2024

Necaxa vs. Pumas: Schedule and where to watch the Liga MX Matchday 7

The university students will seek to end the Rayos' hegemony on Matchday 7 of the 2024 Apertura.

Pumas does not rise and sinks on its anniversary

Necaxa took the victory with goals from Palavecino and Arce, while the university students suffer their third defeat in a row.

The Pumas do not pick up the pace and added their third consecutive defeat in Liga MX. With a resounding 2-0, Necaxa electrocuted some felines that put up little resistance and cannot find the rhythm to get out of the problems they have in terms of results. On their 70th birthday, the auriazules had a blow that puts Gustavo Lema's project in danger.

Gustavo Lema's pupils suffered in the lower zone throughout the match and some very specific errors were what caused them to fall as visitors, so the outlook does not look encouraging for the series of matches to come.

Necaxa celebrated at home against Pumas.

Although everything started evenly, Pumas was very close to opening the scoring, but Ignacio Pussetto made a huge mistake once he could not finish a cross when he was alone in the area and his shot went wide.

The visitors' lack of concentration was taken advantage of by the home team, who gained confidence, but were not very precise in front of Julio González's goal, who did not have much work, but felt the pressure of the Aguascalientes team.

It was in the second half when the Rayos dared to advance their lines. Agustín Palavecino scored a goal from medium distance to open the scoring. Without hesitation, he took a ball from outside the area and sent it to the corner to leave Julio González with no chance.

With the lead, Necaxa felt comfortable, but the Pumas pressed a little more. Lema modified and adjusted his pieces, but he was not very successful. Even though his team had possession of the ball, they could not find clarity in the attack.

Fernando Arce was the one who extended the lead for Necaxa. The Mexican found a rebound after a great save from Julio and only had to push the ball in to put the second for the Aguascalientes cause.

Pumas tried to get closer on the scoreboard, but they were not even close to doing so. In the end they had only one shot on goal and added their third consecutive Apertura 2024 game with a loss, so the pressure is mounting on Gustavo Lema, who did not find a positive result on the club's 70th anniversary.
