Jack Grealish poses with £25,000 protection dog after £1million Boxing Day raid at his home
Jack Grealish, the Manchester City player, recently shared a photo on social media posing with his £25,000 protection dog.
This update comes in the aftermath of a burglary at his home on Boxing Day. Detectives investigating the incident have expressed concerns about their ability to apprehend the gang responsible for stealing £1 million worth of watches.
In 2020, Jack purchased two Belgian Malinois dogs from the security firm Chaperone K9, following an incident where fellow footballer Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint.
Chaperone K9 has provided dogs to several prominent figures, including Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, and Rio Ferdinand.
Considering the security risks, Jack and his fiancée Sasha Attwood have been advised against storing expensive watches and jewelry in their new Cheshire home.
They have been cautioned that it's not worth the risk of being targeted again. To mitigate this risk, Jack has decided to keep many of his valuable items away from his home while ensuring easy access to them when needed.
City manager Pep Guardiola recently mentioned that players were receiving new advice to enhance their personal security. In the case of the Grealish burglary, detectives are worried that they may have missed the crucial period for identifying the culprits.
Despite having some leads, little fresh information has emerged in the past two weeks, leading to concerns that the case may remain unsolved.
The burglary on Boxing Day left Sasha, Jack's fiancée, feeling terrified and unsafe in their own home. She was with Jack's family at the time of the incident, and the burglars made off with approximately £1 million worth of watches and jewelry from their £5.6 million Cheshire property.
The area where the property is located, known as the "Golden Triangle," has been a target for professional gangs from South American countries like Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Peru.
During the break-in, Jack was playing in Manchester City's away match against Everton. It is believed that the burglars had extensive knowledge about the players' activities and paid for inside information to orchestrate the raid. One theory being explored is that the removal workers involved in Jack's move were followed in the days leading up to the burglary.
The source further explained that these types of raids are carried out by serious organized crime networks, often based overseas, with significant intelligence about the players' routines.
They are willing to pay large sums for insider tips to facilitate successful heists. Following the incident, Sasha was deeply affected, having recently moved into the £5.6 million home with Jack.
