Flight from hell: Husband, 63, dies beside his wife when 'litres of blood' shoot out of his nose and mouth all over the interior of the plane in front of screaming passengers flying from Bangkok to Germany

Yesterday, a tragic incident occurred on a Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Munich, leaving passengers horrified and traumatized.

A 63-year-old German man, whose identity remains undisclosed, boarded the flight visibly ill, and his condition rapidly deteriorated during the journey.

According to fellow passenger Martin Missfelder, there was a sense of absolute horror as the man started coughing up large amounts of blood in front of his wife. The man had boarded the plane with cold sweats and was breathing rapidly.
Concerned passengers rushed to help him, offering chamomile tea and taking his pulse.

Unfortunately, as the plane took off, the man's health took a severe turn for the worse. He began spitting blood into a bag, and suddenly, a gush of blood came out of his mouth and nose, splattering the walls of the aircraft.

The man's wife informed the cabin crew that her husband was feeling unwell due to the rush they had to make to catch the flight in Bangkok.

Initially, a flight attendant expressed concern and asked if the man was okay. However, when given permission to remain on board, Karin, a nursing specialist sitting behind the couple with her husband, intervened and insisted that a doctor was urgently needed.

The pilot then made an announcement over the loudspeaker, requesting a doctor's assistance.

A 30-year-old Polish medic, who had limited English proficiency, arrived and assessed the man's condition, indicating that he seemed fine. Despite the medic's evaluation, the man continued to spit blood into the bag his wife was holding.

As the flight progressed, the man's condition dramatically worsened, resulting in him spitting out liters of blood that covered the cabin walls. The scene was chaotic, with passengers screaming in horror.

Flight attendants attempted resuscitation for approximately half an hour, but it became clear that the man could not be saved. The atmosphere on the plane turned somber and quiet. The man's body was taken to the galley, and the aircraft had to return to Bangkok.

The captain announced over the loudspeaker that a passenger had passed away during the flight.

Upon their return to Bangkok Airport, passengers were left waiting without guidance for two hours, causing frustration among the group. The wife of the deceased was forced to go through customs alone while the other passengers were rebooked on a different flight via Hong Kong.

Martin Missfelder expressed his disappointment, deeming it unacceptable that the 30 traumatized passengers were left without direction. He hopes for an apology to the affected group and the deceased man's wife.

Passengers claimed that they were offered a 10-franc voucher (£9.06), although it was unclear what the voucher was intended for, according to local reports. Lufthansa confirmed the medical emergency on the flight and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased passenger. They also apologized for any inconvenience caused to the other passengers.

In a separate incident in January 2024, a passenger was discovered dead in a plane toilet during a Jet2 flight from Tenerife, Spain to Manchester, England.

The crew diverted the flight to Cork in Ireland after the man's body was found. Jet2 expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased passenger and commended their crew for their efforts in a difficult situation.
