UFC 289: Following a nearly faultless performance against Irene Aldana, Amanda Nunes departs on top.

On one of her biggest evenings ever, Amanda Nunes performed flawlessly twice.

First, she put on an almost faultless performance against Irene Aldana on Saturday in the main event of UFC 289 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, defending her bantamweight title. She won by scores of 50-44 twice and 50-43, while also breaking the bantamweight takedown record.

When she was finished, she declared her retirement, ending her career as the best female MMA fighter of all time as well as the women's bantamweight and featherweight champions. 

Amanda Nunes gave a superb performance in the bantamweight title defense against Irene Aldana in UFC 289 at Rogers Arena. Nunes won the fight by scores of 50-44 twice and 50-43, setting the bantamweight record for the most takedowns.

Amanda Nunes is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist who has competed in UFC since 2013. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest female fighters of all time and has held both the UFC bantamweight and featherweight titles. Nunes started her career with a record of 7-3, but she won her next nine fights, including victories over some of the best fighters in the sport. 

During her career, Nunes has defeated some of the biggest names in women's MMA, including Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, and Cris Cyborg. She also holds wins over Holly Holm, Felicia Spencer, Germaine de Randamie, and Valentina Shevchenko. Nunes has defended her bantamweight title five times and her featherweight title once. 

With her retirement, Nunes leaves behind a legacy that will be difficult for any fighter, male or female, to match. Nunes has shown remarkable skill, power, and athleticism in the Octagon. She has been a dominant force in the women's MMA world and has set a high standard for future fighters to strive for. Her retirement marks the end of an era in women's MMA, and her accomplishments will be remembered for years to come.
