A most important highway is closed following a crash in Oxfordshire these days (Monday, August 8). The A34 northbound is close simply north of Oxford.


The closure is in place among the A420 (Botley Interchange) and the A44 (Peartree Roundabout). A vehicle and a lorry are worried and emergency services are on the scene.



The street was first reported to be close at around 12.50pm. A site visitors diversion is in vicinity and motorways are being suggested to avoid the area.


A National Highways spokesperson stated: "The A34 in Oxfordshire is closed northbound between the A420 (Botley Interchange, near Oxford) and the A44 (Peartree Roundabout) because of a collision involving a vehicle and a lorry. Emergency services which includes Thames Valley Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers can also be presenting help with site visitors control on scene.


"If this closure impacts for your planned course, please allow greater journey time. Plan beforehand, you can desire to re-course or even postpone your adventure."


Inrix, the traffic statistics agency, stated: "A34 Northbound closed, queueing visitors due to accident, a vehicle and a lorry involved from A420 (Botley Interchange, Botley) to A44 Woodstock Road (Wolvercote). Traffic is likewise slowing southbound because of onlookers. The lorry has reportedly long gone into a ditch."
