As indicated by Chief Timothy Albright of EGPD, the official engaged with the accident was a six-year veteran of the EGPD.

"We are profoundly disheartened and lament for our law implementation family, the group of our official, and for our local area," Albright said.

CHP - South Sacramento distinguished the incorrect way driver as 31-year-old Jermain J. Walton, of Sacramento. In a Facebook post, CHP charge Walton at first attempted to leave the location of the mishap prior to being confined by officials.

"While on scene, Walton showed objective signs and side effects of liquor inebriation," CHP's Facebook post says. Walton was accordingly set up for the Sacramento County Main Jail for a long time DUI-related charges."
