Britney Spears has reportedly been 'admitted to mental health facility as she struggles to cope with dad's colon and intestine illness'

BRITNEY Spears has reportedly been 'admitted to mental health facility as she struggles to cope with dad's colon and intestine illness'.

The 37-year-old's dad Jamie has had two surgeries to correct issues with his intestines and colon, and TMZ claims it is "quite serious and not getting better".

But his ongoing health problems appear to have taken their toll on Britney, with TMZ reporting she is "distraught" and checked herself into the facility a week ago.

Britney - who has two children - will reportedly stay at the facility for 30 days.

The singer put her Las Vegas residency on hold to care for her 66-year-old father, who looked after his daughter under a conservatorship from 2008 following her mental health issues.

On Wednesday, Britney posted a picture on Instagram which read: "“Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit”.
