Around 200 individuals have been emptied from shops, workplaces and an inn close to London's Leicester Square later a gas spill, with engineers now at the scene attempting to fix the issue

A gas spill in Leicester Square has started the clearing of around 200 individuals from neighboring shops, workplaces and an inn.
Police asked staff in organizations encompassing the square to leave the region prior to setting up a 50-meter cordon.
London Fire Brigade affirmed that gas engineers are currently in the square attempting to fix the break.
Station Commander Clive Robinson said: "A gas principle has burst and around 200 individuals have been emptied from encompassing structures and an inn.
"Teams are relied upon to stay on scene for the duration of the morning."
A representative for the unit added: "Groups were called at 7.01am to reports of a gas spill in Leicester Square.
"Around 200 individuals have been emptied from neighboring properties and a 50 meter cordon stays set up.
"Engineers from Cadent gas are attempting to fix the gas spill.

"Two fire motors and around 10 firemen from Soho and Euston Fire Stations are at the scene."
A representative for the Met Police said: "Police were called at 07.27am on Tuesday, 14 December following reports of a presumed gas spill in Leicester Square.
"Crisis administrations are in participation.
"Various structures have been cleared as an insurance, and the square is as of now shut to people on foot."
