Ormeau Road incident sees car 'deliberately set alight'

A car was 'purposely set land' in South Belfast during the early long stretches of Monday morning. 

A report was made of a vehicle consuming on the Ormeau Road at around 2.15am on October 25, at Haywood Avenue. 

PSNI Inspector Dawson added: "Three youthful guys were seen running from the area. 

"Our partners from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service joined in and the fire was doused. There was broad harm caused to the vehicle.

In the mean time, investigators are engaging for data following a theft at a shop in the Ormeau Road region on Sunday, October 24. 

Investigator Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "Presently before 10pm, two guys outfitted with scissors and a razor, entered the premises and compromised staff and clients who were in the shop at that point. 

"The pair took an amount of cash from the till alongside a huge amount of cigarettes prior to making of by walking. 

"It is accepted that there was potentially a third male with them who didn't enter the shop. 

"Any individual who might have seen this episode or who might have any data comparable to those involved, is approached to contact analysts on 101 citing reference 1873 of 24/10/21."
