Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and will you see a doctor?
,Pregnant women within the UK are going to be told they need to remain reception for 3 months from the weekend because they're among the foremost susceptible to coronavirus.

The Government have added mothers-to-be to the list of most 'at risk' people for the primary time along side the elderly and people with health conditions.

Officials said the measure was 'for precaution' because it's too early to mention whether COVID-19 poses a big threat to expectant mothers.

Generally pregnant women are more likely to catch an infection than women who aren't pregnant.

However, England's chief doctor has previously said he doesn't think pregnant women should start worrying about passing coronavirus to their babies.

There is currently no clinical evidence to suggest that the virus are often transmitted via the womb or through breast milk.

The Government have added mothers-to-be to the list of most 'at risk' people along side the elderly and people with health conditions, Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed today
Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled the new COVID-19 prevention advice at a televised briefing this afternoon.

Among his recommendations were for particularly vulnerable people to remain indoors for 12 weeks.

The 'period of shielding' has been implemented at a time where there'll be maximum protection, coinciding with the height of the disease.

He said: 'In a couple of days time, by this coming weekend it'll be necessary to travel further and to make sure that those with the foremost serious health conditions are largely shielded from social contact for around 12 weeks.

'Again, the rationale for doing this within the next few days instead of earlier or later is that this is often getting to be very disruptive for people that have such conditions.

'This advice about avoiding all social contact is especially important for people over 70, for pregnant women and for those with some health conditions.'

England's chief medical doctor Professor Chris Whitty said extending the recommendation to pregnant women was a precaution.

He said: 'The group of individuals who we might want to require this recommendation particularly seriously are older people above 70, people that in adult life would normally be advised to possess the flu vaccination, so these are people with chronic diseases like chronic heart condition or chronic renal disorder , and also - as a precautionary measure because we are early in our understanding and that we want to make certain - women who are pregnant.
