Wild summer weather: Tornado rips past a New Jersey office, hundreds of flights are cancelled and flash flooding hits Baltimore as thunderstorms batter the East Coast
Several hundred flights have been grounded in the New York metropolitan area because of severe thunderstorms 

Severe thunderstorm watches have been established for until 9pm eastern time for southern New England, southern New York, eastern Pennsylvania and all of New Jersey and Delaware 
Wednesday's storm comes after heavy flooding in Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon which dumped two inches of rainfall on the area in less than two hours


A tornado ripped past a New Jersey office, Baltimore has been hit with flash flooding and more than 700 flights have been cancelled at the three airports in the New York metropolitan area, as thunderstorms batter the East Coast.

More than 200 flights have been cancelled at John F. Kennedy Airport Wednesday while more than 300 were cancelled at LaGuardia Airport. Newark Liberty Airport had the most cancellations with over 400 , according to FlightAware. Another 1,000 delays were recorded at the three airports. 

Dramatic video footage from Springfield, New Jersey - about 10 miles away from Newark Airport shows office workers watch in disbelief as a twister passes.

Meteorologists estimated winds in the tornado reached speeds of 70mph, according to WCVB. There appears to be no damage.
