SINGER'S COLOURFUL CAREER
Since
bursting on to the scene in 1990 with hit record 'Nothing Compares 2
U', O'Connor has courted controversy over issues unrelated to her
musical career.
In 1992 she famously tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II live on US television.
She
was ordained as a priest in 1999 by a breakaway church in Lourdes,
which is not recognised by the traditional Catholic Church.
In
2010, she called for Catholics to boycott Mass until there was a full
investigation into the Vatican's role in the issue of child abuse.

this year, she hit the headlines when she blasted Kim Kardashian's
