RABA’A MASSACRE Memorial
On August 14th, 2013, the Egyptian military and police forces under the coup government massacred more than 2600 and wounded more than 10,000 peaceful participants in a sit-in protest in Raba’a Square, Cairo Egypt. No one has been held accountable for this massacre, and no one is likely to be held accountable
In a recorded meeting, General Sisi promised military and police officers and soldiers that: “there will be no one held responsible for killing demonstrators while he is in power”. Since then, the killing never stopped
The massacre is a crime against humanity of both a historic and epic proportion. The immunity given by Sisi to those who committed it is daring, flagrant, and unforgivable
We think killers must be held responsible for their crimes. Victims and their families need to know that there are people like you, who support them and stand for truth and Justice. We believe we all must be standing for them
This 1st Raba’a Anniversary Memorial is meant to remember those victims and their families and to show the world that there are people of conscience who care about justice and the rule of law
