Eric Abidal ended his six-year stay at Barcelona with an emotional send off inside the Nou Camp.
The
French defender, 33, who has fought back from a liver tumour and a
liver transplant, was presented with a framed Barca shirt that said
'Merci Abi' and thrown into the air by his team-mates.
And
Cesc Fabregas, a target for Manchester United, Manchester City and
Arsenal, and David Villa, who is being chased by the Gunners and their
north London rivals Tottenham, may also have played their final games
for the Catalan club - both scored in an excellent 4-1 win over Malaga.
Abidal
entered the game as a 75th minute substitute to great cheers after
announcing earlier this week in a tearful press conference that he would
not be signing on for another season.

Memento: Abidal was given a framed shirt as a thank you gift
Abidal
was a free signing from Lyon in the summer of 2007 and has gone on to
make nearly 200 appearances for what have been some of the best club
teams in football history.
During
his six year stay he won four league titles, two Champions Leagues, the
Copa del Rey twice, three Supercopa de Espana and the Fifa Club World
Cup twice.
He was also named in the UEFA team of the year in 2007 and was named as the best defender in La Liga in 2011.
