Toe-maggedon: While discussing the pressure to look 'perfect' at Cannes Film Festival, Julianne Moore candidly addressed her unfortunate red carpet shoe malfunction on Jimmy Fallon last night
The
52-year-old coined the disaster 'toe-mageddon,' and gestured that she
had found a way to ensure such an unsightly situation never happens
again.
'I needed to prevent this from happening
again,' she jokingly told the host. 'So I cut my toes off.' Ms Moore then
gifted Mr Fallon a silver box of plastic pinky toes.

The actress, who sashayed down
the red carpet for The Great Gatsby premiere on May 15 wearing a
Christian Dior dress, said she was horrified when she realized her toes -
spilling over the edge of her platform shoes - had stolen the show.
'I was
comfortable with my shoes, and I went and watched the movie, but then I went
online to see a picture. And what did I see, but toe-gate!'

admitted that there was a possibility the narrow shoes could cause
problems, but said she felt confident that her slow walk along the red
carpet wouldn't compromise her toes' security.
'You have to be really careful about your footwear at Cannes,' she explained. 'You have to be able to walk.
