The Buzz: A few years ago, you
might have thought Dwayne Johnson's movie career had peaked, but like a
storyline lifted from the WWE's playbook, he's back on top and
considered the best add-on to franchises that are looking for a little
oomph. Here he's the main attraction in stuntman-turned-filmmaker Ric
Roman Waugh's debut - a project that spent nearly a decade in different
states of development before Summit scooped it up. If the story weren't
based on actual events (which was depicted in a "Frontline" documentary
years back), we probably wouldn't be as interested; of course it helps
to have a supporting cast populated with three guys from some of the
butchest cable TV programs in recent times: Jon Bernthal ("Walking
Dead"), Harold Perrineau ("Oz"), and Michael Kenneth Williams ("The
Wire").
