Happy to go au naturel: Liverpool lass Alex Gerrard is happy to go barefaced during the day, but dolls up for a night out It emerged the average Liverpool lady wears a full face of make up just three days a week while at work.
Women in Liverpool are more confident without make-up on than those from anywhere else in the UK, it emerged today.
A UK-wide study of 2,000 females found the typical woman from the Mersey's city leaves home 17 times a month with a make-up free face.
The report also found 95 per cent of ladies living in the city, hometown of well-groomed stars Coleen Rooney, Abbey Clancy and Alex Gerrard, prefer to look as natural as possible whenever they can - unless they are on a night out.
Sara Wolverson, Beauty Director at Superdrug, said: 'Liverpool women are confident enough to step out without a scrap of make-up in the day, then transform themselves at night into a real glamour puss.
'Celebrities like Holly Willoughby and Kate Middleton always look flawless and so natural because their make-up is applied in a way that achieves natural perfection.'
Women in Norwich came second in the list of the UK's most natural looking women, leaving the house with practically no make-up 16 times a month.
Those in Portsmouth and Cambridge also feel sure of themselves if they want to nip to the corner shop free of powder and paint.
Scottish lasses are also confident in their natural beauty; ladies in Edinburgh and Glasgow bare their faces to the world 14 times a month.
Other cities which are home to confident beautiful women are Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds.
The study indicates despite loving reality television, women aren't taking beauty tips from favourite shows such as The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
Sara Wolverson added: 'Today's women know that if your skin looks beautiful then you have the best canvas for applying make-up, as well as looking great natural.'
