Andrew Garfield's Spidey sense is kicking in, and it's a good feeling.
The actor, 27, who is taking over for Tobey Maguire in the upcoming Spider-Man prequel, tells PEOPLE he's humbled by both the famous costume and by his costar, Emma Stone.
Asked if donning the Spidey suit for the first time was magical, Garfield replied: "Of course it was. It was humbling and strange, and I was really moved by it. It felt right. It felt wrong. Kind of all of the above. It was just a strange, surreal moment."
As for his costar Stone, 22, who will play Gwen Stacy, the girlfriend Peter Parker had before Mary Jane Watson, Garfield says he couldn't imagine a more skilled and enthusiastic person to work with.
"She's just an incredible actress, and she's one of the most spirited people I've ever met and just incredible fun to be around generally," he says. "On top of which, she's beautiful and talented and kind of impossible to dream up."
