Delighted Ant McPartlin, 48, 'confirms' he's expecting his first child with wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, after sharing his long-time desire to be a father and 'confiding in pal Declan Donnelly

Ant McPartlin, the popular TV host, has confirmed to his close friends that he and his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, are expecting their first child together.

This news brings immense joy to the 48-year-old presenter, who has expressed his long-standing desire to start a family. According to sources, Ant shared the delightful news with his Britain's Got Talent co-stars, revealing that Anne-Marie, 46, is due in June.

Speculation about Anne-Marie's pregnancy had been circulating since December when she was spotted returning from a trip to Dubai, appearing to be several months pregnant.

However, the couple has chosen to keep the news private and has not made any public comments regarding the pregnancy.

Ant had already confided in his close friend and onscreen partner, Declan Donnelly, about the wonderful news. The couple reportedly had a five-month scan, which allowed them to confidently share the news with others. A source close to the couple expressed their excitement, stating,

"This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted." Ant had previously come to terms with the possibility that he might never have children, making this news even more special for him.

Anne-Marie, who has two children from her previous marriage, is believed to be a supportive and loving partner to Ant, and they have worked hard to keep their pregnancy a secret for as long as possible. The source also mentioned that becoming a father, just two years shy of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life is a dream come true for Ant.

As of now, Ant's representatives have not provided any comments on the matter. However, Ant has been open about his desire to become a father in the past.

In 2013, he shared his struggles with trying to have children with his ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong, and expressed his hopes for the future.

Ant credits his wife, Anne-Marie, for supporting him through his battle with alcohol and prescription drug addiction. He has previously stated that she has been his rock and that he is in the best place in his life, thanks to her.

Rumors about Anne-Marie's pregnancy started circulating when she decided not to join Ant in Australia for the filming of I'm A Celebrity. Instead, Ant hosted the show alone while his on-screen partner, Dec, was accompanied by his wife and children.

Witnesses saw Anne-Marie at Heathrow airport in December, appearing to be several months pregnant. Ant couldn't contain his happiness, with onlookers describing him as the happiest man in the world.

The couple's happy news may be difficult for Ant's ex-wife, Lisa, as she too had hoped to have children. Lisa and Ant tried for a baby during their marriage, but sadly, they ended up divorcing in 2018 without having children together. The fact that Anne-Marie previously worked as a personal assistant for Ant and Lisa has added complexity to the situation.

Ant and Lisa's marriage ended in a lengthy divorce battle, primarily centered around Ant's substantial fortune of £60 million. Their split became apparent in 2017 when Lisa did not accompany Ant to Australia for I'm A Celebrity. They officially divorced in October 2018, with Ant admitting to adultery.

Lisa recently ended her relationship with her most recent partner, James, in August 2023. The split was unexpected, and tensions have risen due to financial matters, with Lisa claiming that she loaned money to James during their relationship.

During their divorce proceedings, Ant reportedly stated that Lisa could have anything she wanted, except their dog, Hurley. The former couple agreed to share custody of the dog, and arrangements were made for a chauffeur to transport Hurley between them to avoid direct contact.

Lisa has expressed her desire to have Hurley live with her full-time, arguing that it would be fair since Ant has two other dogs. The situation surrounding the custody of the pets adds to the complexity of their post-divorce relationship.

As the news of Ant's impending fatherhood spreads, fans and well-wishers eagerly await further updates and congratulate the couple on their joyous news.
