The top three finishers in both the men’s and women’s races earned a spot on the American team that will head to Tokyo, Japan from July 24 to Aug. 9 to compete for a gold medal. We had some surprising results by the end of both races, including a debut marathoner making the cut and the oldest U.S. Olympic marathoner joining the national team, as well.
