20 cruise liner PASSENGERS DIAGNOSED WITH VIRUS

At least 20 people on a cruise liner moored off the coast of Japan are diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Despite the deadly contagion spreading on board and passengers being unable to go away , many were seen chatting across their balconies today.

A further 10 people tested positive for the deadly virus on the Diamond Princess on Thursday after an equivalent number were rushed off the moored vessel to hospitals on the japanese mainland on Wednesday.

Some of the ship's 3,700 passengers have complained of 'prison-like' quarantine conditions, as those that appear healthy are trapped on deck.

Passengers gaze bent port on Thursday because the ship returned to port to gather supplies

Japanese authorities have tested 273 people among the passengers and crew after a person who got off the boat last month in Hong Kong tested positive for the new strain.

Among the passengers in Yokohama Bay, near Tokyo, are 78 Britons including David Abel, 74, and his wife Sally, who has described having to believe Facebook to speak together with his fellow passengers.

The cruise operator, Princess Cruises, said the infected passengers include three Americans, two Australians, seven Japanese, one from Taiwan, two Canadians, one New Zealander and three Hong Kong citizens, also together Filipino crewman .

The new cases were reported because the Diamond Princess, which has been ordered to stay at port for 14 days, docked to permit resupply and therefore the removal of sick passengers this morning.

At the port, officials might be seen wearing white hazmat suits, complete with face masks and helmets. An extendable white-tented passageway was wheeled to a door on the side of the huge cruise liner , apparently to guard the identity of individuals being evacuated from the boat.
