The M23 southward between the M25 and Crawley is to be closed for 5 nights whereas central reservation works crop up.

A full closure between Junction 8(M25) and Junction ten (Crawley) has been declared as a part of scheduled  works for the week commencing Mon (November 4) by contractor Kier.


The existing central reservation on the freeway is being taken down and replaced with “a new ferroconcrete barrier that is longer, stronger and safer”. Kier has conjointly warned of noise whereas it carries out the works.

It is the most recent step in changing the M23 into a sensible freeway, with work continued despite Highways European nation chief government Jim O’Sullivan raising considerations over the security the new roads last month.

M25 Godstone to Crawley link road
There will be a full closure of the Godstone to Crawley link on the M25 between 9pm and 5am on Saturday (November 2) and Sunday (November 3).

M23/M25 to Crawley southward

M23 Reigate to Crawley link road
There will be a full closure of the Reigate to Crawley link road onto the M23 between 9pm and 5am between Mon and Fri.

A fully signed diversion route are going to be place in situ taking drivers instead via junction six of the M25, A22, A264 before connection the M23 at junction ten.

M25 Crawley to Reigate link road
A full closure of the Crawley to Reigate link onto the M25 are going to be in situ between 9pm and 5am on weekday (November 6) and Th (November 7).

There will be a completely signed diversion route via junction six of the M25 and back dextral on the M25.


Narrow lanes and a 50mph regulation can stay in situ on each the southward and northward roadway.

A statement from Kier on the coming roadworks said: “We square measure continued to require down the prevailing central reservation barrier from J8 and commutation it with a replacement ferroconcrete barrier that is longer, stronger and safer.
