Users took to social media to bemoan the app which first experienced issues at 11am GMT (7am ET).
Spotify has tweeted out a response saying everything is now 'back in tune'.
Users reported that the platform was not working properly, according to outage monitoring site DownDetector.
A live outage map showed a huge concentration of users reporting problems throughout the UK and Europe.
But, reports were coming in from as far afield as the US, Indonesia and Australia.

Reports peaked at 3,751 reports shortly after the outage struck but has now been fixed.
Stranded customers were forced to take to Twitter to vent their frustration at being left without their music.
One user, called 'KRFearon', said: 'Currently making small talk with my Uber driver as Spotify is down'.
Another user revealed they are wearing headphones despite being unable to play music, in order to avoid any spontaneous conversation with strangers.
