Rupert Grint sported lashings of eyeliner and scruffy hair of opening night for his latest Broadway play

Rupert Grint wasn’t afraid to play around with the cosmetics ahead of the opening night for his latest Broadway play.


The 26-year-old sported lashings of eyeliner, presumably for his role as young-gun director Frank Finger, when he stepped out in New York at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for the debut show of It’s Only A Play.

Speaking about his character and the rehearsal process Rupert said: ‘It's hard not to be overwhelmed when we're rehearsing.’

‘He's a very complicated, deeply troubled man. So it's something I've always wanted to try.’
Rupert made his first professional stage appearance playing a drug dealer in Mojo in London's West End last. 

Rupert’s trademark fiery locks were worn with a scruffy tousle and he finished off his look in a quirky T-shirt with an eyeball emblazoned across it.

Before the show kicked off, Rupert and his fellow castmates F. Murray Abraham, Matthew Broderick, Megan Mullally, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing and Micah Stock posed for a happy snap outside the theatre.
