His mother Ata and cousin Lina were injured in a head-on collision last weekend in Florida when a drunk driver ran a stop light and slammed into them.

And Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson looked understandably relieved as he took his mother home from the hospital on Tuesday. The 42-year-old actor grinned as he pushed his smiling mother in a wheelchair in a new Instagram snap.

The next day retired professional wrestler Afa Anoa'i, a cousin of Ata and uncle to Lina, told People, 'We're so thankful no one was killed, including the girl who was driving the other car.'

And there is hope. He said, 'We have a very close family. We take care of each other.'
Lina had surgery for a broken collarbone; Ata had a bruised chest and lungs. Her left arm was also injured and fitted with a cast.

Afa said, 'This is our family's moment to remind people about the issue of driving while under the influence. It's never worth it to drink and drive.'
Eyewitness Tina Middaugh at the crash site told People, 'It happened really fast. The car came out of nowhere and they hit. I didn't hear brakes squealing or horns beeping. I saw the car, and then literally two seconds later, I saw the crash. There was no time to react.'

In Dwayne's caption, the Hercules star expressed his gratitude for his mother's recovery. 'Takin' mama home. Banged up, but she's a tough one and will make a full recovery. Grateful to see her smile. And thank you guys for all the prayers, love and well wishes. #GratitudeAndBearHugs #ChoicesMatter #100PercentPreventable #DontDrinkAndDrive'.
