The Cards got their pass to the playoffs when the Dodgers fell against San Francisco. The current World Series champions lost against the Cincinnati with a score of 3-1 at home, but Los Angeles lost at home 3-4, falling 2 games behind St. Louis.
The Braves finished second in the NL East with a record of 94-68 after taking a victory in Pittsburgh with a score of 4-0 on Wednesday and clinching a spot in this year´s MLB playoffs.
Starting pitchers for Friday night´s game are Kyle Lohse and Kris Medlen. The Cardinals pitcher has a record of 16-3 this season and 2.86 ERA while Medlen is 10-1 and 1.57 ERA.
