Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley celebrated her 33rd birthday at Mercato Di Vetro in West Hollywood last night

She often opts for comfort over style, but last night Katherine Heigl pulled out all the stops for a birthday dinner with her husband.

Peek-a-boo: The star's little black dress gave a glimpse of her décolletage
Heigl was initially reticent about her husband of almost four years getting the inking, tweeting she was 'not so happy' with the Sagittarius symbol design

The actress, who turns 33 today, celebrated the occasion with a romantic night at Italian restaurant Mercato Di Vetro in West Hollywood.
She put her long legs on show in racy lace stockings and wore a black zipped dress, complete with a peek-a-boo slit running from her shoulder down to her bust.
Romantic night: The singer put his new tattoo on show while his wife flashed her long legs
She was joined by her husband Josh Kelley, who had also joined her on a Thanksgiving shopping trip at Gelson's grocery store in Los Feliz, California earlier in the day.

The 31-year-old singer-songwriter was showing of his brand new tattoo as they headed into the restaurant.
Josh had his left inner arm inked in homage to Katherine and their adopted daughter Naleigh, who also celebrated her birthday this week.

The design features a Sagittarius symbol surrounded by with numerics.
Explaining the symbolism, he said: 'My wife's birthday is November 24 and Naleigh's is on November 23, so her 23 is in Korean and the Sagittarius symbol is in the middle.'

But she described the final result as 'super cool' adding: 'It's kind of the most romantic thing anyone's ever done for me and it's so hot that he's such an amazing dad!'

Kelley paid a visit Studio City Tattoo parlour in Los Angeles today to get the artwork done.
He was accompanied by Katherine while he had the painful procedure done, where she tweeted updates and photographs.

'I think he might cry soon,' she teased. 'Just keep doing your yoga breaths! We'll get through this together!'
